Hambourg SV - Paderborn

These two sides have met twice before in competitive fixtures, both times in the first round of the DFB Cup. HSV won 3-1 in Paderborn in 1996/97. The second meeting was won 4-2 by SCP in 2004/05. However, referee Robert Hoyzer later admitted to match fixing.
Hamburger SV have been waiting nine competitive matches for a win. Their last four games have ended in draws.
Paderborn haven't lost any of their last six league games (W4, D2), scoring twice in each match. Their last defeat was on matchday 29 at home to Düsseldorf (2-1).
HSV kept a clean sheet on matchday 1 after a run of conceding in 12 consecutive BL games.
    Only Hannover 96 (40.0%) have a better chance-conversion rate than SC Paderborn 07 (33.3%).
Rafael van der Vaart assisted the most shots on matchday 1 (5). There was also no player involved in more shots than him on the opening weekend (9).
SCP manager Andre Breitenreiter played for HSV between 1994 and 1997, scoring 12 goals in 71 BL appearances.
If Mirko Slomka loses the home game against Paderborn, he will have a record of three wins, three draws and nine defeats after 15 BL games in the HSV dugout – his predecessor Bert van Marwijk was fired in February with the exact same record.
Slomka has never waited as long for a competitive win during his managerial career in the BL. He went eight competitive matches without a win at 96 between September and November 2013 – his current run of nine successive winless games is his worst ever.
Mirko Slomka didn't make a single change on matchday 1. The last time that a Bundesliga manager played through 90 minutes with his starting XI was on matchday 10 of the 2011/12 season – Robin Dutt's Leverkusen side lost 1-0 to Schalke back then.
