Sprinkle some sesame seeds to get more iron
Sesame seeds for iron
Iron is extremely important for our system. Not getting the required amount of iron causes iron-deficiency-anemia which results in weakness, dizziness, pale skin and chipped nails. One of the best sources of iron out there is sesame seeds. They are packed with minerals, one of them essentially being iron. Every 100g of sesame seeds contain 14.6 mg of iron. Sesame intake is great for pregnant women and children with anemia. Sesame seeds are available in black, red, yellow and white and they have an extremely nutty and crunchy taste to boot!
Tip: Simply add them to batter when you cook home-made muffins, cookies, bread or cake. Or you can use it to give that amazing crunchiness to a bowl of boiled broccoli with squeezed lemons. These seeds are also also an excellent way to season your salads.
