Blackpool – Watford Preview Prediction

You will struggle to find a month worse than August 2014 in Blackpool's history. Six defeats, the unrest with the manager and Chairman, no pre-season, a debacle of a transfer deadline day, support ebbing away and a public spat between the owners of the club. Whilst it will take a massive rebuilding process to put a lot of that right, the draw against Wolves and the fact that Riga was still in charge on Saturday was a start.

The manager lived to fight another day and hopefully the support for Riga and the fact we didn't lose should mean he'll be in charge again for the arrival of Watford to Bloomfield Road. Once the talk of support for Riga, disdain for the Chairman and the result was taken in to account, there was finally discussion post match about the players. From the comments expressed, there is support for the keeper, a feeling the defence is growing with confidence, the midfield is lightweight and we are still struggling for that player up front who can convert chances in to goals. Whilst we deserved the point on Saturday the fact remains that we only had 37% possession, had just the 1 shot from 12 on target and managed to win 3 corners (in comparison to Wolves 11). There is still much to do at the end of the pitch.

Here's what you've been saying ahead of Tuesday's game:

Walwynwasagod: Just looking at their team sheet from yesterday they have a very strong squad ... Deeney, Vydra, Anya, Lloyd Dyer etc. Could be toughest game yet i reckon.

Bisphamtang: Very tough game and another big test for us Saturday was a clear improvement and would be delighted with a point against the hornets. Trying not to go over the usual stuff but think we are not yet a team with common purpose but i think we can see Riga is doing the best he has with what he has got at his disposal.

Westhertsunsocialclub: Spoke to a Watford mate today, he was at Charlton and thinks they're poor! Get at 'em from the start, and it's three points in the bag. Looking forward to the trip up on Tuesday

Plumbs: Watford like to ping it about feet to feet and will take advantage of any weaknesses or lack of concentration. It's a funny league though and football folk from the South dont travel well.

Wizaard: Tough game, but with a new manager in, trying to impose a new system on them, it might just be a good time to play them before they get used to what is required of them. Here's hoping.

HodderSeasider: Saw the Football League Show highlights of Watford's game at Charlton. Can't believe Watford did not win the game, never mind lose it! Don't know the stats, but Watford had many times more shots on target than Charlton, who's keeper Henderson played out of his skin. I fear for us Tuesday night, particularly down the flanks!

Another real test then for Joe Riga whilst Watford will be without manager Oscar Garcia after he complained of chest pains at the weekend. That puts football in to perspective and we wish him well.
