Hull City v Lokeren preview

Hull boss Steve Bruce is once more likely to give several fringe players a chance to impress in the crunch Europa League play-off second-leg clash with Lokeren on Thursday (kick-off 20.05).

Bruce made wholesale changes to his squad for the 1-0 defeat in the first encounter in Belgium in between the Tigers' opening two Barclays Premier League matches and is again likely to rotate his squad.

While he indicated he would not make as many drastic changes, defender Harry Maguire is in line to make his second appearance for the club, while Yannick Sagbo could start after serving a two-game domestic ban.

"It's quite simple, we've got to win the match and we're capable of that, no matter what line-up I pick, we're capable of winning the game," said Bruce.

"We know that we'd love to be in the next stages; to get in the group stages would be terrific for the club, we're aware of that. We're also aware of how difficult it is with all the pitfalls that come with it.

"We'll be going all out to try and get a result and get us through to the league situation which we'd all look forward to."

"The one thing you can't be is gung ho," Bruce said. "They're good opposition, they've got some good players; you don't finish fifth in the Belgian league and win the (domestic) cup if you're not a good side.

"So of course you've got to have a bit of patience, you've got to have a bit of guile about you and if we leave ourselves exposed at the back then like we did against Trencin we'll concede after a minute."
