Tyson Goldsack reportedly set to leave Collingwood following lucrative offer from Port Adelaide

COLLINGWOOD defender Tyson Goldsack could be the latest free agent to recharge his AFL career at Port Adelaide.

St Kilda forward Terry Milera wants to return to SA — and may be followed bySaints defender James Gwilt to fill a growing gap in the Adelaide defensive unit.

And the Power is expected to trade young defender Cam O’Shea to St Kilda to reunite the Victorian with former Port Adelaide coaching director Alan Richardson who is currently the Saints’ senior coach.

The AFL trade market does not open until October, but already the preliminary talking between clubs and players agents has set up prospective moves for next season.

Goldsack, 27, has been at an impasse with Collingwood since the middle of the season. He is chasing a three-year deal — and the Power may oblige with a contract reportedly worth $1.2 million.

Goldsack has personal interest in Adelaide, where his girlfriend lives, making his move to SA most likely if the Magpies do not match any offer from either the Crows or Power.

Milera, 26, has declared he wants out of Victoria to return to SA, where he was listed in the SANFL with the Port Adelaide Magpies.

Milera would leave St Kilda after playing 30 AFL games in three seasons. Saints head of football, Chris Pelchen, said: “We are sorry that Terry is likely to move on from the Saints at the end of the season, but we fully appreciate the personal reasons contributing to his decision.”

Crows coach Brenton Sanderson yesterday offered a guarded response on Adelaide’s interest in Milera saying: “We’ll look at every club. List management meetings are every two weeks and will go to every week at the end of the season.

The Herald Sun reported last month that Goldsack was at an impasse with Collingwood despite a career-year on the field.

The Magpies are unable to match rival offers due to their own salary cap pressures.

Goldsack’s manager Anthony McConville said in July he and the club were “not on the same page”.
