Birmingham City - Leeds United Betting Preview

The Whites travel to St Andrew's this weekend for the early kick off in the Championship, with our tipster backing Lee Clark’s men to take advantage of the turmoil Leeds are in

After sacking boss David Hockaday after only a handful of games at the helm, Leeds United have yet to appoint a new manager, with a number of candidates entering the frame. They approach this game against Birmingham City without an away win so far, but with Leeds winning two of their last three visits to St Andrew's, they will be confident of recording a morale-boosting win.

Lee Clark’s men have had a tough start to the season, going four games without a victory, but they are unbeaten at home, beating Brighton & Hove Albion and drawing with Ipswich Town, which will come as a huge relief to the home support who have endured some testing times at St Andrew's over the last year.

The Blues really struggled at home last season in the league, winning just twice in 23 games. Despite that run though, William Hill price them at 23/20 (2.15) to win.

Leeds United won their last Championship match, beating Bolton Wanderers 1-0 at home. Despite getting back to winning ways after three straight losses, Bolton are in trouble themselves, so punters shouldn’t read too much into their victory.

Poor results on the pitch haven't been helped by big losses in the transfer window for Leeds. After Ross McCormack and Matt Smith were both sold to Fulham, it’s a new look side, especially upfront this season. William Hill price them at 11/5 (3.20) to make it two wins in a row, with the same firm pricing the draw at 11/5 (3.20).

With neither side setting the world alight in front of goal so far this season, it’s no surprise to see the under 2.5 goals bet at 13/20 (1.65) with William Hill. With this price a tad short, it’s worth looking elsewhere for a price that’s worth backing.

It’s still early in the season to determine which sides will end up at the top and bottom of the leagues. However, with Leeds in turmoil, it’s worth backing against them as they are still managerless.
